Personal Impressions
1In 1939-1940 I attended an orthodox storefront synagogue on Tinton Avenue. I was completely ignored because I was girl. The following year I was registered at Sinai Temple Sunday School (Reform) on Stebbins Avenue. That was a very positive experience where the rabbi taught songs, related bible stories and welcomed my mother and me to Friday night services.
